Dr. Michael D. Silveus

Dr. Silveus loves the private practice of dentistry and was very pleased that the office was recognized by peers to be considered at "Top Dentist" by Virginia Living Magazine. He is intellectually stimulated by the new products and techniques which are constantly being introduced. He enjoys the multi dimensions of dentistry from working with children, straightening teeth with Invisalign (invisable orthodontic appliances,) root canals to the complexity of restoring a patient's mouth with full compliment of implant retained teeth.

But what Dr. Silveus likes most about the Practice is spending time with the interesting patients. Having patients who have lived all over the country and world bring him a great insight.

Teaching has been an important aspect of Dr. Silveus' professional life. He was on the Faculties of Georgetown University and the University of Detroit Mercy's Schools of Dentistry. He also taught philosophy at the University of Detroit Mercy.

While teaching at Georgetown, Dr. Silveus got to know the Jesuits and joined them for 8 years. As a Jesuit he had many interesting opportunities to serve those in need, from helping found a High School in Chicago for Hispanic children, to doing spiritual direction, to teaching to working with the poor in soup kitchens, jails and homeless shelters.

Origionally from the Midwest, Dr. Silveus graduated from Indiana University and its School of Dentistry, where he excelled under the world class tutalage of Dr. Sutera Hovijitra. After Dental School, he earned a Masters of Science in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago and attended Harvard University studying Latin.

When outside the dental office, Dr. Silveus is a runner and a rower, rowing with Potomac Boat Club. He enjoys international travel, Shakespeare Theatre and reading. You may recognize Dr. Silveus who was the "Home Coming Car Kid" in the movie "Breaking Away." His dog Marcus Agricola is a wonderful yellow lab.

Dr. Silveus is a member of The Academy of Osseointegration, The Northern Virginia Implant Study Club, The American Dental Society, The Northern Virginia Dental Society, The Virginia Dental Society, the American Dental Educators Association, the Potomac Boat Club and Holy Trinity Parish.


Dr. Stephen J. Donohue, DDS

For over 20 years Dr. Donohue has been providing excellent dentistry for the Practice's patients. He offers a full compliment of dental proceedures and building upon a solid periodontal (gum) foundation for his patients' dental and overall health. He is consistantly recognized as a "Top Dentist," because of his passionate committment to delivering state of the art dental treatment.

He is a member of the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Donohue from Cathedral Preparatory High School in New York, Iona College and The University of Texas Dental School. Before entereing Dental School, Dr. Donohue taught high school in rural Texas, where he met his wife Theresa.

Currently Dr. Donohue is pursuing a Masters in Theology at Christendom College. When not practicing Dentistry or spending time with his 3 children and 12 grandchildren, he also runs, works on geneology and is active in St. Raymond and St. James Parrishes.

Founding Dentist



Dr Kannar retired in 2006 after over three decades of successfully treating dental patients. Currently he is enjoying traveling with his wife Judy, spending time at his vacation home on the Northern Neck with his 4 sons & daughters in law and 8 grandchildren. Dr. Kannar's generosity, patience and gentle personality are greatly missed.

He grew up in Detroit, New York and Washington, DC. The excellent product of Catholic Education, he graduated from St. John's High School in Washington, DC, St. Xavier University in Cincinnati and Georgetown University School of Dentistry, where he was also on faculty for many years.

Dr. Kannar is a daily walker, member of St. Mark's Parish and has an Irish dual citizenship.

AnneAnne, Dental Hygienist

Anne has been in the practice the longest of anyone, over 35 years. Her dedication to our patient's dental health is remarkable.

She did her hygiene training in Buffao, NY, where she grew up. She and her husband Larry, a retired school teacher, have three married children, Cara, Rob and Brian, three grandchildren, and a cute dog Sammy.

She is a member of St. Joseph's Parrish and loves shopping. Her professional expertise and warmth have made our patients fell at home whenever they are in the office.

 

 

 


DoraDora, Dental Assistant

Dora has compassionatly helped Dr. Silveus take care of the patients for seven years.

Born and raised in Bolivia, Dora moved to Washington when she was 18 years old. Dora and her husband, Oscar have two children, Kayla and Brandon. When not caring for her husband and kids, Dora somehow finds time to exercise regularly, be involved with her church and run half marathons.

 

 

 

 


CrystalCrystal, Office Manager

A native Falls Church resident, Crystal is is an expert in insurance compensation. Having been in the office, she is also in charge of patient scheduling and billing. Besides running the business aspects of the office, Crystal also helps assist the Doctors in patient care.

Crystal and her partner, Donald Lee, have three children, Jaunte, Da'Jon and Jayla. Crystal is active in youth football and baseball coaching and administration.

Jessica

 

Jessica, Dental Assistant

Jessica assists Dr. Donohue treat patients. She grew up in Northern Minnesota and is a recent graduate of Christendom College.

She attends St. James Parish in Falls Church.








Cindy Cindy, Front Office

Cindy works scheduling patients. She and her husband Mark were apple farmers in Idaho for many years before he took a position as Assistant Secretary of the Interior which brought them to Washington, DC. They have four children and 8 Grandchildren. Cindy likes golf, walking, cooking and yoga.

 

 

 

 

 


DaniDani, Hygiene

Dani is a rare breed, for many reasons, one of which is being a Native Washingtonian. She was one of the most highly regarded Dental Assistants at Georgetown Univeristy School of Dentistry. When the Dental School Closed, Ms. Dougan obtained her Hygiene Degree and moved into private practice.

Later, she returned to her alma mater Howard University to teach hygiene for four years and then served as Chair of the Hygiene Department in Kingston, Jamacia. Currently, she is working on a Masters of Public Health degree.

Missing the rewards of patient care, Dani returned to Washington and is back with the Practice part time. She cares for our patients with expert cleaning, oral examination and periodontal care along with her effervescent personality.

 


MiriamMiriam, Housekeeping

Miriam moved here from South Africa. Besides keeping the office wonderfully clean, she cares for senior citizens in their homes.
