Individually Tailored Excellence in Dentistry

Over 35 years ago Dr. Jack Kannar founded the Practice with the idea of providing individually tailored excellent dentistry in a peaceful atmosphere. He felt the patients would be most comfortable in an attractive free standing Cape Cod house modified for a health care facility, where they could feel at home and not rushed. In this comfortable environment, we welcome both new and continuing patients.

Today, we carry on that tradition of homeyness. We believe it is important to get to know our patients so we can treat their dental needs in light of their overall physical and emotional health. We do not overshedule patients so that we have time to discuss their treatment and activities. In so doing, we are grateful to able to be part of four generations of our families lives. We value that trust.

Although the physical location of the Practice evokes traditional warmth, we believe in keeping on the cutting edge of Dentistry. Consequently, Drs. Kannar and Silveus were on the faculty of Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Later, Dr Silveus taught Dentistry and Philosophy at the University of Detroit Mercy.

We understand the importance of continuing education, but even more important than the latest in dental techniques, is the professionalism of our Doctors and Staff. We are grateful that the office was recognized by Virginia Living Magazine as an "Outstanding Dentist" office. We believe that recognition is due to the fact that we have had such good and long lasting staff. Dr. Kannar retired after owning the practice for 30 years. Anne Dombrowski has been a hygienist here for over 30 years, Dr. Silveus has owned the practice for over 5 years, Dr. Donohue has practice dentistry here 20 years, Dora Marmol and Crystal Henry have been here 7 and 6 years respectively.

Looking forward to the next 35 years, we are excited about the new techniques ahead in children's, implant, restorative, orthodontic and periodontial dentistry that we can use for treating the next four generations of patients.
